Chairs and table are both sturdy enough to stand on. Reminder, you may bring your own table and chairs for musical theater. You may provide your own table for ensemble, but must use the chairs provided. In mime and improv, you must use the chairs provided at contest.
ONE-ACT INFO:
All one-acts will be performed in the auditorium on a very large stage approximately 40’ wide by 25’ deep. There will be a white cyc dropped along the back wall and a black traveler can be closed about 2/3 of way back and the main curtain can also be closed to make the space smaller if you wish. No microphones will be used so please make sure your students project. We have also installed a new pit cover so the stage is extended all the way forward to the first row of the audience. This area will be lit with stage lighting as well so you are free to use that space if you wish. Basic sound effects can be used by hooking a computer up to the sound board. Basic lighting will consist of full stage and some very limited specific lighting effects such as stage left and stage left. Two spotlights will be available for use as well. A tech crew will be on staff that day to assist with all technical needs and the operation of boards. However if you plan to use multiple spotlights and light or sound effects, you must provide students to give directions and help operate the technical elements.
Large one-act props can be loaded through the outside garage door on the west side of the school and then through another garage door onto stage. However, most set pieces should be able to fit through a normal people sized door. One-act props should be storage in the scene shop directly behind the stage until completion of your performance, but please make sure you are as quiet as possible during other performances.
The make-up room backstage will be available for you to prepare your costumes and make up before your performance, but please only arrive 45 minutes before you are on stage. Please use of this space and not the spectator restrooms to prepare for your one-act only performance.

GROUP IMPOV INFO:
The study hall is a large carpeted room in the main hallway of the school. Again, we will need to be as quiet as possible outside in the hallway and try not to create traffic jams for other spectators trying to get through. Center will have five uniform chairs provided for performance purposes. The draw room will be located immediately next to the center entrance.
SHORT FILM/RADIO BROADCASTING/TV NEWS INFO:
As per IHSSA rules, each school will bring all their own equipment including computer, projector, and speakers to share their recorded performance. The contest sites will only provide the projection surface screen and carts. We will have TWO carts in the hallway to set up your equipment before each presentation. When your event is called, you will simply wheel the cart in, plug into electricity, and your presentation should work just fine with your own equipment. Again, all equipment will be set up outside the room during the prior presentation. When finished, you will wheel your cart back out into the hallway, clear your equipment, and allow another performer to begin their setup. You are more than welcome to bring your own cart so it's all hooked up prior to your performance and you can just wheel it around the school.
